This is a true 138 SS Chevelle with the numbers matching 396. I have owned the car for 14 years and it has been garaged since I have owned it. The engine was rebuilt right after I got the car. It runs strong and sounds great. To my knowledge the sheet metal is all original. Around 3-4 years ago I had a small amount of rust sanded out of the quarter panels behind the rear wheels and the flat area between the back glass and trunk. Then a very basic paint job was applied. There are other small blemishes in the sheet metal. The car is solid but not perfect. This car would make a great driver as is or it is a good candidate for restoration back to original condition. The seat covers and door panels need to be replaced. I have the door panels (all 4 from Year One) and they go with the car. The rest of the interior is in good condition. I have the chrome that goes around the front and back glass. It could be reused but it would probably be best just to purchase new. I also have the rings and centers for the wheels. The car has power steering and manual breaks.
True 138 cars are rare but 138 cars with numbers matching engines are almost impossible to find. Don’t miss this opportunity!
